As I’ve mentioned before, I’m trying to decorate our home room by room, piece by piece. One of the things I really wanted was a message board. They’re just so easy when you need to jot down some food you’re out of or a reminder for something important. But I wasn’t about to buy one when I could easily make it myself.

I take a lot of inspiration from Pinterest, and I’ve seen a TON of chalkboard message boards. But since I have an extreme aversion to chalk (I get itchy just thinking about chalk and chalkboards), I wanted something that could use a whiteboard marker.

I had an extra picture frame from framing some Con art and decided that was a perfect size for a message board. The glass is perfect for writing and erasing whiteboard marker.

And, of course, I couldn’t have just any message board. I wanted a nerdy message board! So I whipped up this Batsignal print design in Photoshop and had it printed by It’s a great site for getting easy, cheap prints done. This one was 11″ x 16″ and it was about $5 to print. You can order a variety of sizes and print types.

From there, just put put the print in the frame…

Grab a dry erase marker…

And you have yourself a Batman message board!
