Do you have a compulsion to veer from the main story? We totally get it — especially when it comes to San Diego Comic Con. Talk about sensory overload, am I right? So, if you need a break from navigating Hall H’s madness, here are the top side quests to meet all your adventuring needs during SDCC 2015!

1. The Nerdist Conival


Dates: Thursday-Sunday, 11 AM-5 PM

Location: Petco Park, 100 Park Blvd San Diego, CA 92101

Price: FREE

Chris Hardwick’s Nerdist, Felicia Day’s Geek & Sundry and Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls will be taking over Petco Park for The Nerdist Conival. There will be video games, Bloodborn laser tag, a fire-breathing dragon photo op, free giveaways and dice-rolling table-top-ery(?). Not only that, but throughout this FREE four day event, Nerdist will host live interviews and panels with people we find love, like: Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliff, Sex Criminals writer Matt Fraction and, the queen of nerds herself, Felicia Day.

2. The Nerdist Podcast


Dates: Saturday: 7:30 PM & 10:30 PM

Location: Balboa Theatre, 868 Fourth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101

Price: $35,

And if you can’t get enough of Nerdist and didn’t want to wait 10 hours on the floor to see some big names, you can hit up the The Nerdist podcast‘s two live shows. The 7:30 PM show will include special guests Sir Ben Kingsley and Doctor Who’s Peter Capaldi and the 10:30 PM show guests will be Game of Throne’s Maisie Williams!

3. The Walking Dead: Escape

Dates: Friday & Saturday: 6 PM-10 PM

Location: Petco Park, 100 Park Blvd San Diego, CA 92101

Price: $40+,

Also at Petco Park — The Walking Dead: Escape is back and looks absolutely frightening (if you’re into that sort of thing). Tickets can be expensive, but well worth the memories and nightmares.

4. Game of Thrones: Experience the Realm


Dates: Thursday-Saturday, 11 AM-5 PM and Sunday, 9 AM-12 PM

Location: Omni Hotel, 675 L St., San Diego, CA 92101

Price: Time, Just Precious Time

This is a must  for everyone waiting for Winds of Winter to finally come out. The main attraction of the Game of Thrones: Experience will undoubtedly be the “graphic Game of Thrones-style self-portraitthat will be digitally created of you while you attempt to mimic Arya Stark’s water dancing skillz! There will be photo-ops aplenty with GoT props and, of course, a replica Iron Throne! Additionally, you can create a GIF of yourself being burned by Daenerys’ dragon or turning into a White Walker. Also, merch! However, if you don’t get there early, the long line will make you feel like you’re beyond the wall with winter coming. So plan accordingly.

5. Nerd HQ


Dates: Thursday, 9 AM-2 AM ; Friday, 9 AM-7 PM ; Saturday, 9 AM-2 AM; Sunday, 9 AM-4 PM

Location: The New Children’s Museum, 200 West Island Ave, San Diego, CA 92101

Price: Freemium,

Keep a keen eye when at this celeb hot spot. Nerd HQ hosts a bevy of entertainment and fun. While the event is free, the “Conversations for a Cause” are $22 per ticket and have already sold out. There will be games to play (including the VR Project Morpheus), foods to eat and merch to buy. And if you’re really lucky you can grab a selfie with one of the many appearing celebrities — think of it: a wild Elijah Wood appeared. You used selfie. It was super effective!

6. Geeks Go Glam 


Dates: Thursday, 8 PM-11 PM 

Location: San Diego Public Library Patio, 330 Park Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92101

Price: $15,

Friends of Wrong Button, The Nerdy Girlie and Being Geek Chic, are throwing a glamorous party to kick off SDCC — Geek Go Glam. Fancy dresses, high heels, and suits are highly encouraged, so it’s a chance to let your geek and chic sides collide for tea, desserts, and lots of swag.

7. The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses


Dates: Saturday, 7 PM-10 PM

Location: Copley Symphony Hall, 750 B St, San Diego, CA 92101

Price: $35-$150,

Legend of Zelda fans rejoice! The Legend of Zelda: Symphony will be in San Diego just in time for SDCC. The concert, of course, will feature melodies from Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, A Link to the Past, Link’s Awakening and more paired with a multimedia presentation.

8. Wrong Button’s Guide to Drinking


Dates: All Con 

Location: Various 

Price: Depends

I think we could all use a drink after a long day at Comic-Con — onsite, offsite, or just getting there. We’ve picked out seven places that have special SDCC events or that we just like for you to check out during the last days of the convention. Whether you’re into good, old-fashioned, Irish hospitality or cocktails named after your favorite fandoms, there’s something for everyone on this list!
