We made some waves with our first appearance at Central Coast Comic Con — Emily was in a fashion show, Peter ate a hot dog and Wrong Button represented! The third annual C4 was hot… like really hot. However, despite the unrelenting sun, C4 had some cool activities. There was laser tag, signings by the usual suspects (the amazing Doug Jones was there!), informative panels, great cosplay and awesome art, props, toys and games from both independent and brand name creators. There was also a bouncy castle that Emily desperately wanted to go in, but didn’t.
While Peter did not cosplay this time around, he was Wrong Button’s photographer/Emily’s helper/service boyfriend and found some amazing art.
As we mentioned, Emily was delighted to participate in the Geek Fashion Show. You can read all about her experience over on Crafts & Controllers. Here’s a little sneak peek!
But, the best part of going to cons, and C4 is no different, is to meet new friends and reconnect with those we sometimes only see at cons. We were just chilling when we struck up a conversation with none other than ‘Band of Brothers’ actor James Madio! He was a newbie to the con scene and very genius and nice.
Despite C4 not having the the same attendance as bigger conventions we’ve been to, we still saw some amazing cosplay! If you spot yourself, let us know and we’ll credit you.
Emily was cosplaying as Red Sonja and we got a lot of great shots of her to add to her newly opened print store!
She and Fred helped advise on the undead problem.
The con also had some awesome TV and movie cars including Baby from ‘Supernatural’, the DeLorean from ‘Back to the Future’ and the ‘Jurassic Park’ SUV — Emily did her best dinosaur impression.
